Hello! Thanks for stopping by the Frugal Attorney (Frugal Esq or Frugal Lawyer).
I am an attorney with a solo practice I started right out of school. I am very interested in personal finance and paying down my painfully high loans. Too often I hear stories of attorneys barely scraping by and want to help change that. Some of the topics here will talk about practice management and growth to help others build their practice. I want to talk about personal finance, investing, retirement planning, and budgeting to help attorneys and other high earning potential people not fall into the same traps. I also see and hear about stories about attorneys not being able to retire or generally living check to check and cannot believe it. Well I believe it, but it shouldn’t be this way. During school there was never any talk about personal finances, practice finances, or running your own practice. There was also no talk about student loans or paying them off, although some students talked about how massive their debt loads were becoming.
My hope is that the information here is helpful and motivating while also saving viewers time from having to figure it all out themselves. There are great blogs out there for doctors and big-law lawyers, but nothing for us the smaller more common end of law; solo law to small-law to mid-law.
Lets pay off those loans, build successful practices, and build wealth together!
